Question:
I've made an appointment with a holistic vet in my area & the initialvisit will cost $150.00. I have 2 dogs that will be seeing this new vetso it will cost us $300.00 just for the consultations. Tests will beextra. Is this the going rate? I live in rural western Pennsylvania.

Answer: That was the cost for the initial visit with my holistic vet inVermont. It was an hour visit though and he looked at the whole dog,personality, everything, not just the problem, which was a nail bedinfection that wouldn't go away. I felt really good with this vet,and will use him all the time now. I was given some holistic remedieswhich may have helped but this vet is also tradtional and we had to dosome scrapings and biopsys the find the real root of the problem.Then we had to put my dog on a strong sntibiotic for several weeks,which did the trick.But getting back to the holistic vet, I think it's the way to go. Ialso switched my dog to Canidae, a complete;y natural affordable foodyou can buy off the Internet. That may have helped his itchy problemshe alsways has and doesn't anymore.
