Indigestion RelieverIn case of indigestion, prepare a mixture of one teaspoon of baking soda to a glass of water and drink for immediate relief. Old-Fashioned Cough RemedyYou can make a simple cough remedy by boiling one lemon slowly for approximately 10 minutes. This will soften the lemon so that it will be juicier, and it will also soften the rind. Cut the lemon in two parts and extract the juice with a lemon squeezer. Put the juice into an ordinary drinking glass. Add two tablespoonfuls of glycerine. Stir the glycerine and lemon juice mixture well, then fill the drinking glass with honey. (Glycerine can be purchased from your local druggist or pharmacy.) Varicose Vein TreatmentThis old folk remedy is still being used in some foreign countries. Apply apple cider vinegar, just as it comes from the bottle to the varicose veins night and morning, by means of the cupped-hands treatment. Shrinking of the veins should be noticed by the end of the month. In addition to applying the vinegar to the veins, two teaspoonfuls of apple cider vinegar added to a glass of water are also recommended twice a day. Bladder InfectionsOne teaspoon of olive oil and one teaspoon of garlic juice mixed in a glass of warm water should help eliminate the bacteria responsible for bladder infections. Drink three times a day, before meals. Substitute cranberry juice for the water if the infection is especially stubborn.
