Home Remedies For Ear Infection?

My daughter is 17 months old and she has an ear infection and I cant get her meds until tomorrow. Is there anything that i can do to try and help her. I have also been alternating Motrin and Tylenol every 4 to 6 hours. I heard that i could put some alcohol on a cotton ball and put that in her ear. Im not sure if she is too young for that or what.

Answer: She probably has otitis MEDIA...meaning middle ear infection, so I don't think the alcohol thing would help.

You're doing the right thing by helping her with the pain. Treat any other symptoms she might have...vomiting or anything like that, all children are different.

When she sleeps (if she can, poor thing), help her to sleep on the ear that doesn't hurt. That will keep the fluid from putting pressure on the ear drum and may help it to drain.
