Question: I'm not sure if anyone has posted anything regarding help for anxietysufferers but I was wondering if there are any alternatives to takingdrugs to help this condition?I'm also wondering if anyone knows of certain foods I should eat more ofor avoid. If anyone can offer some well needed advice I would be verygrateful. I believe in taking the holistic approach to treat my problem.
Answer: it all comes down balance, to overcome anxiety. Notice I said overcomenot control? It's important to get enough sleep, good quality sleep. Ifind relaxation or hypnosis tapes very useful. Herbal relaxing formulas in teas or tablets are good also. Foodwise, fresh fruit, vegetables,meat and whole grain breads, nothing from packets where possible. Leavesugar out altogether if you can. Eat at least three meals a day, whenunder stress the body needs nourishment more often. Especially,carbohydrates, fibre and the like, to give energy and protein to repair.Exercise doesn't have to be complicated... walk up the stairs instead ofusing the lift, get off the bus a block earlier than you need, park thecar at the other end of the supermarket parking lot, ANY exercise isbetter than none. A 20 - 30 min walk daily will help in a lot of ways.Andlast but most importantly FUN have lots of it! Exposure to things that make you anxious will also help here. e.g. fear ofspiders, getting someone to be with you while you even just look at one ishelpful. NLP is useful for fears and phobias and could help here. I'vefound just confronting the fears time and time again, they have becomeless.
