Question: I would first like to thank EVERYONE forsharing information out here along with providing links to FM sites andpersonal experiences. This is just what I was looking for when Isearched out this website. Being newly diagnosed with FM, left meuninformed, scared and ready to arm myself with ALL the info. I neededto “help” myself get better and feel better. I even have/had thoughtsthat if I get enough “good” information than maybe I can/could beat thisFM thing and be done with it ( I am sure many out here can relate withthat last statement).Any who, I just want to share a real life experience withdoc...@ozline.net and others. And here it goes…..my oldest son hasasthma and allergies and has had them since birth. We (dr.s and us hisparents) got a grip on his asthma and allergies several years back. Iwas encouraged to do the allergy shots and allowed it for about 2 or 3sessions. At that time he, my son was about 6. I did some research onallergies and what type of serum was injected into ones body whilereceiving allergy shots. At that time I decided it was wrong tocontinue injecting my 6-year-old child with allergens. I decided to lethis body try and do it naturally. As time went on his allergies didlessen and so did the asthma, yes he needed to use inhalers and allergymeds during certain times of the year, but…… his body was doing thegrunt work and building up it’s own defense. Last year for what everreason, asthma and allergies were out of control for a lot of suffers inour area. My son was seen by our GP more than he had ever been seen inyears for his asthma and allergies. In late Oct of 99, we had to takeour son to the ER because he could not breathe. They did a treatment onhim and gave him yet more meds., including steroids. This is where Idrew the line once again. I felt my son was on to many meds, some ofthem were just to powerful and not working. It was time to seekalternative help. We are lucky to have a Chiropractor that alsopractices applied Kinesilolgy near our area. I made the apt. andbrought my son in to see this man because I wanted my son off thechemicals that did not seem to be helping. The Chiropractor did histhing (by the way I thought this guy was a quack after watching himevaluate my son), explained A LOT to me and we were out the door with a10 dollar bottle of oregano drops that were to be taken 3 times a day. With in 2 days my son was feeling much better and capable of breathingwithout laboring. I continued to bring him to the “natural Dr” until hewas feeling 100%, about a week possible a week and a half. Now I wasconvinced that this “natural Dr” was worth it. Where man madechemicals/meds failed my son, nature came to the rescue and made a worldof difference. Now during this first visit to the Natural Dr, heexplained in depth how the body works etc. He also explained about theCandidiasis (yeast) that docdc1 and others speak of. I am fully awareof this “yeast” within our bodies and what it does. But you see thatyeast is NOT the total enemy to all for all things wrong with ourbodies. Sometimes the “yeast” is a good thing and helps our bodies tofight. Also, the “yeast” excuse is used to explain unexplained reasonswhy by holistic medical folks and by those that grasp the “yeast”concept and “think” this is the real reason why. Now I must say thatthis “yeast” does exist and can be an enemy to our bodies IF it is outof control. BUT it is not a “cure all” for everything and anything thatails the human body. The natural Dr I have taken my son to believesthat the yeast can be a factor, but is not always the underlying factorin ALL humans. So doc...@ozline.net I want to say thank you for yourreply to my earlier post. But, I just want you to know that yeast isNOT the cause or cure for ALL with FIBRO. Or any other auto immunedisorder or Crones, IBS, MS, Lupus and this list can go on and on. Ibelieve the “yeast” can play a roll in all of this, but I don’t thinkanyone thing is totally responsible, not even “yeast”. If it were that“simple” there would have been a “cure” for MANY syndromes etc. a longtime ago. Now I am not saying that “yeast” is NOT an aggravatingfactor, I do believe it could be. Now I have been in pain for over ayear and finally have gotten some relief from medicines prescribed by myNeurologist. I have absolutely NO intentions of staying on man madedrugs for the rest of my life. I WILL be making an appointment myHolistic Dr at the beginning of the year. But at this point in time Iam AFRAID to make any changes because I know cleansing the man madedrugs out of my system isn’t going to be pleasant and I am not ready forthat yet, the holidays are coming and it is a VERY busy time for me asit is with most people. I also feel I need to arm myself with all theinformation that I can in order to make the right decisions for myhealth. I WILL keep everyone abreast as to my holistic approach once Istart it in January. To wrap this up, docdc1, you wrote and I quote: ”Ifind it incredible that you choose to stay sick and not check outalternative medicine.” Please don’t ASSUME that I have chosen to staysick, instead look at it as “ I have chosen to do the best for myselfand family, and I am learning more and more every day and with thatinformation I am learning, I will help myself to get better”!
Answer: I sincerely hope that Docdc1 isn't scared off of this group the way the otherdoctors were. This is a very cruel group that tries to make this group intothe Jerry Springer Show. It's ashame, but every medical doctor, holisticdoctor, chiropractor, healer, and researcher have been driven off of this groupby insults and slandering. The crime is that the non-medical doctors have someincredible information. Docdc1 is a kind spirit and I have found all of his information valid. Thereal trolls are the close minded people who will slander a wonderful doctor andhealer like him.
